Meet Our Feel the Love Nominee: Daniea Steiger

We are so honoured to recognize Daniea Steiger as this year’s Feel the Love nominee. Her story is one of unwavering love, strength, and resilience.

Daniea’s husband, Tyson, was a healthy, vibrant man who began his cancer journey in 2021 with a bladder cancer diagnosis. What began with hope for an “easily cured” condition soon turned into a battle far greater than anyone expected. In 2022, the cancer spread to his lungs, and by 2023, Tyson was undergoing both chemo and radiation.

Through it all, Daniea refused to let the disease steal their joy. She planned adventures, creating priceless memories: Disneyland, a dream cruise to Alaska (his favorite), Mexico, and a final family trip to California in early 2024. Even in sickness, Tyson’s determination to live fully never wavered.

In the last months, as the cancer spread further, Daniea’s strength became the anchor for her family. She cared for Tyson with unwavering devotion, shielding their daughter as long as she could and supporting their son as he stepped up with courage.

Tyson passed away in March 2024.

Today, we celebrate Daniea: a wife, a mother, and a shining example of love that carries on even in the face of unimaginable loss. Her courage, compassion, and commitment to her family are why she has been chosen as our Feel the Love nominee.

As part of this program, Daniea and her family will receive a brand-new, high-efficiency home comfort system, a small way for our community to give back to someone who has given so much of herself.
