Federal and Provincial Program

New federal and provincial funding is enabling key program enhancements:

expanding program eligibility to add middle-income households;
providing rebates for 100% of the cost of a new heat pump, up to a cap that varies by the type of heat pump (central, multi-split or mini-split).
increasing the maximum rebate amount for heat pumps from $9,500 to $16,000.
increasing the maximum rebate amount for electrical service upgrades needed to install a heat pump from $3,500 to $5,000.

Save Up To $8,000 In FortisBC Dual Fuel Rebates

FortisBC is offering an $8,000 dual fuel system rebate for income-qualified customers who want a higher-efficiency heating and cooling system to replace their aging gas or propane furnace, helping to reduce their energy use and associated emissions.

Qualifications:

Residential dual fuel heating system rebate amount: up to $4,000.
Income-qualified dual fuel heating system rebate amount: up to $8,000.
Qualifying participants must be replacing an existing gas furnace that is at least 15 years old.

You could be eligible for up to $4,000 in rebates for replacing your current electric heating system with a heat pump.

Ductless Mini-split Condo Rebates

Based on your household income, the Energy Savings Program Condo and Apartment Rebate covers up to $5,000 to help you switch to a ductless mini-spilt heat pump.

What is the FortisBC rebate for heat pumps?

What is the BC Hydro Top-Up rebate?

Eligibility and rebate amounts depend on your specific situation, including your current heating system and the equipment being installed.

What kind of equipment qualifies for BC HVAC rebates?

Most BC rebate programs focus on heat pumps, specifically high-efficiency models that meet the energy performance thresholds set by the program.
Air source heat pumps and cold climate heat pumps are among the most commonly qualifying systems.
The equipment must also be installed by a licensed contractor.
