Gas Leak Sparks Home Transformation
How CleanBC ESP, Gandy’s help and a new heating system changed everything
As a busy single mom balancing long hours as a nurse while raising teens and younger kids, the thought of big home expenses can be overwhelming. But Lindsay Watt is grateful that Gandy Installations was there to help her every step of the way when she faced an unexpected problem with her home.
It all started when her mother-in-law suspected a gas leak at Lindsay’s home in Surrey. Lindsay called Fortis to check it out, and sure enough, it turned out to be a major gas leak! They relit the furnace and hot water tank, but it still wasn’t safe, so both had to stay off. Lindsay was completely caught off guard—she had no idea there was even an issue!

When the time came, she tried to apply for the rebates herself but ran into some trouble. So, she called Greg, and he guided her through the whole process step by step.
Within two to three weeks, she was approved! In the end, she was able to get the heat pump for all her heating; the added advantage of air conditioning through those hot summers; and an upgraded electrical panel for the same price she would’ve paid just for a new furnace, thanks to the great CleanBC ESP rebates available and all the help that Gandy Installations gave her.
“It’s been a game-changer this summer,” Lindsay said. “It’s made my home so much more comfortable, and I think it’s even increased its value. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, and I’m still getting used to how cozy it feels! Plus, there’s a smart thermostat, which is awesome.”
Lindsay lives in Surrey with five kids and pets (ages 19, 16, 14, 12, and 7), and she thought the installation might be tricky with such a full house. But the whole process was smooth. “The installation took just two days, and the team was fantastic—clean, quick, and super responsive to all my questions. There was a small issue the day after they finished, but they came right out and fixed it,” she explained.
Although she initially felt overwhelmed by everything, Lindsay was relieved to have the Gandy team by her side, helping her every step of the way. “They were even willing to come over if I needed them!” she added.”
