Since its inception in 1957 Gandy Installations has become one of the largest forced air, heating, and cooling contractors in BC. Business is thriving thanks to our many loyal customers and our dedicated and valued employees.
Our fleet of over 58 company vehicles carry Gandy’s outstanding customer service to longstanding customers as well as new ones throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, all the way from Horseshoe Bay to Hope. Gandy Installations is licensed, bonded and insured.
Our story begins in 1957 when co-founders Charlie Gandy and Ken Atwell decided to go into business together. Inspired by a need for a forced air heating contractor in the Fraser Valley, the business was founded upon providing residential installations. Atwell-Gandy Gas and Electric grew rapidly in its early years thanks to its reputation for great service at reasonable prices.
Ken retired in 1967, and it was then that the company became known simply as Gandy Installations. When both Charlie and his son Chuck qualified for their Class A Gas Fitter licenses, they expanded the company to include commercial and industrial installations.
When it was time for Charlie Gandy to retire, Chuck took the reins and, by expanding Gandy’s customer base, he brought the company to a whole new level of success with an expanded service area that covered the entire Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland area.
In recent years, the company has continued its expansion with the purchase of Kerrisdale Gas and Neufeld Heating, as well as the introduction of plumbing services to the growing list of services offered by Gandy Installations. With the reintroduction of electrical services, Gandy has truly come full circle. Not since the early days of Atwell-Gandy Gas and Electric has electricity played such a role in Gandy’s operations.
Today, Charlie Gandy’s descendants carry on his legacy, and his spirit lives on in Gandy Installations, still family owned and operated since it opened over 65 years ago. Charlie’s son, Chuck Gandy, currently oversees operations and his grandson, Taylor Gandy, is the CEO.
