FortisBC Dual Fuel Rebate Details

FortisBC is offering a rebate of $5,000 for eligible homeowners who install a qualified dual fuel system: an electric ducted air-source heat pump combined with a high-efficiency natural gas furnace.
Key eligibility criteria:

  • Replace an existing gas furnace (≥10 years old) that serves as primary space-heating.
  • Install a new central ducted air-source heat pump + compatible high-efficiency gas furnace operated by a single control set.
  • Home must be a year-round primary residence, at least 12 months old; single-family, duplex, triplex, row home, townhouse or mobile home on a permanent foundation.
  • System must meet specific performance criteria: e.g., SEER ≥ 16; HSPF (Region IV) ≥ 10.00 or SEER2 ≥ 15.20; HSPF2≥8.50.
  • Application must be submitted within six months of invoice date.
