Dual Fuel Rebate Reduced — But Big HVAC Rebates Are Still On The Table!

HVAC Rebates Still Going Strong in the Lower Mainland – What Homeowners Need to Know

The Dual Fuel rebate may have been reduced to $5,000, but if you’re a homeowner in the Lower Mainland, there’s still a major opportunity to save on HVAC upgrades through the CleanBC Energy Savings Program.

At Gandy Installations, we’re here to help you take full advantage — and in many cases, you could get up to 100% of your HVAC upgrade covered.

What Rebates Are Available?

CleanBC offers generous rebates depending on your current heating system and household income:

  • Up to $16,000 for installing a full heat pump system
  • $5,000 for dual fuel heat pumps
  • Up to $3,500 for heat pump water heaters
  • Up to $5,000 for electrical service upgrades if needed
  • Up to $1600 for ventilation upgrades

Eligible systems include upgrades from oil, gas, propane, electric, or wood heating. Emergency replacements qualify too.

Lower Mainland Households Could Save Big

Many local homeowners are surprised to learn they qualify. Here’s what the numbers say:

  • 136,000+ homes in the region are valued below $1.23M, making them eligible for top rebate tiers
  • The average household income across these communities is $88,289, well within CleanBC’s qualifying range
  • Most homes in the region are 20–30 years old or more — ideal candidates for energy-efficient HVAC upgrades

Cities like Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge, Mission, and Hope are especially well positioned to take full advantage.

Do You Qualify?

To be eligible, homeowners must:

  • Live in the home as a primary residence
  • Meet CleanBC’s income thresholds (based on household size)
  • Own a home at least 12 months old
  • Pre-register before beginning any upgrades

Don’t Wait — Rebates Are Time-Limited

After pre-approval, homeowners have just 6 months to complete their installation and submit their rebate paperwork. With high energy bills and growing interest in heat pumps, now’s the time to act.
