Community

At Gandy Installations we are grateful to our loyal customers, our team of dedicated employees and all of the members of the local community who have supported our business for over 60 years.

For 3 generations the Gandy family has lived, worked and done business in this community, and most of our employees have homes and families here. It’s only natural that we care about the community — it’s our community, too.

We recognize that it is a privilege to do business here, and as a responsible member of the business community, as well as being proud community members ourselves, we are committed to contributing to the lives of our fellow citizens in a variety of ways.

Employee Initiative

Our employees guide us to give back in ways that are meaningful and relevant to the community. In 2013, Matthew Krawchuk, a Gandy employee, spearheaded a campaign to collect blankets and warm clothing for distribution to those in need on the Downtown Eastside.

That winter, Gandy Installations was out on Vancouver’s streets giving out blankets, sweaters, scarves and other warm clothing to keep our homeless citizens warm during the cold winter season. The campaign was a great success and we have continued this tradition of seasonal giving in subsequent years.

Supporting Blanket BC

In 2016, a group of our staff worked at a downtown SkyTrain station collecting donations and blankets. In five hours downtown we collected well over $400 in donations and over 100 blankets in support of our partnership with Blanket BC.

Our blanket donations helped support over 75 different shelters, including: Lookout Aid Society, The Caring Place, Hope for Freedom Society, Triage Centre, Rain City Housing, Ann Davis Society, Haven in the Hollow, in addition to Emergency Services – first on the scene after housing complex fires.

Gandy continues to support Blanket BC, and every year between November 1st and December 15th, you can bring a blanket for donation into Gandy’s office and you will receive $5.00 off of any service call.
